[EDIT] His Chaos power is unequalled, it goes beyond what Enerjak, Mogul and even Knuckles in his Ultimate Form had.
He is msart enough to know though, that it shouldn't be used for destruction or world conquering ideals.

Lives his life on Angel Island after moving there from Down Unda due to a simple feeling of belonging, which led to his meeting of Lara-Su where they both had the instant feel of the soultouch for eachother. After learning of his arrival The Brotherhood had him brought to Haven II and thoroughly questioned and examined him to see if he really was the long lost last son of the Founders of All, thinking that the Upside down crescent he bears was just a hoax.
His ancestry was a tribe that had begun before the technologist Echidnas they had lived in peace with the land restoring it after the Days of Fury, the ony reason they could being they were essentially Chaos Energy with a form. They helped forge the emeralds containing the rest of Mobius's Chaos within them, and then went into a state of hibernation, leaving the great Aurora and the Ancient Walkers who helped create the emeralds to watch over Mobius. The line slowly deteriorated over the years as more and more of the Founder's were getting older leaving very few younger generations left in the world, which left the young Spence all by himself, but without recollection of his parents or his culture... He had been taken in by a new 'Dark' Legion called the Bio Legion, though this occupation was quick lived as Spence had decided he wanted nothing to do with a maniacal force hell bent on bringing back the ways of the Old and try to retake what they think is theirs still. He became part of the Down Unda Defense Force under the command of a Leftenant Bloory who was only 19 himself and had risen through the ranks due to his daring heroics and lightning speed (wanna know where he gets his speed form ask me).

The Brotherhood has a certain degree of trust for Spence due to his lineage and are helping him find his power slowly so as he doesnt get out of hand, this is the advantage of him being Soultouched with Lara-Su as she helps with such said task each moment needed. He is also tasked with protecting the Chaos Emeralds as even Spence knows its too dangerous for him to use them making him the best protector so no one can access their power. Although he is soultouched and trains with Lara The Brotherhood disagrees with this courtship and even more so does Lara's father Knuckles who still holds much dislike towards the young echidna.
